" " - Not for sell

Happy New Year!

I know that I have not updated my blog for a while... I did not paint too much recently, but here is a new one to share, the painting needs a title, please let me know if you have a good one :)

My school will be begin in a couple weeks. I will still be teaching a graduate level portrait painting class this semester. I will do some more demonstrations from models and share them with you here.

How about "Contemplation" for the title of this lovely painting?

I am horrible at naming even my own paintings! But instantly I thought...."I remember..."

What a wonderful moment you captured.

My first thought for a title was 'New Day'. She looks like she is thinking about what is to come.

I have missed your posts Fongwei! I like the title "Introspection". :) This is such a beautiful painting, she seems to really be lost in her own thoughts.

I, too, have been missing your blog posts, Fongwei. Glad that you are doing well and painting again. This portrait is spectacular. I love the soft play of light on her face. So beautiful!

Hi Fongwei,

it is a lovely painting, well done, for me the title would be....."Shall I " as she seems to be contemplating a question, perhaps one about whether she should make the first move !

I forgot to say Fongwei...the hands are exquisite!
My idea for the title could also be
'Girl Waits as Time Passes'

Thank you everyone for the comments and suggestions for the title!!

Sometime I feel title my painting is harder than paint it, do you have same problem?:)

Yes Fongwei I sympathise with your dilemma over titles! Titles are tricky because of the degree of influence they can wield over the viewer's interpretation of the work. Consequently, they have to be chosen carefully and that makes it quite difficult sometimes.
