Self portrait

I don't like to paint self portrait, but I did this one because it is a homework.
I love drawing, but most of the time I choice to paint because I love oil painting more.
So when I am painting, some time I feel I holding my brush like holding a piece of charcoal, after I finished the painting, I use my camera to transfer the picture to monochrome, then I can see my painting as a charcoal drawing, like this one.

I really like this self portrait! Love the use of powerful color. I often use the monochrome setting to check values.

Stunning talent. This is my dream someday to paint with your quality. Will be interested in knowing the grade.

Thank you Dean, Holly and Pat! This is my first time to experience use no medium for the painting, I think I learned some thing from this painting and I believe I am able to handle it better now!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and your kind comment. Your work is wonderful. I've only done one self portrait in sepia tones--very hard to paint yourself.

This is so good and I like how you show the value version of your self-portrait. I'm starting back from the beginning of your blog and am going to look at all your paintings. I LOVE your style!
