P.S. How many layers go into a piece like this, for you? It looks so alla prima to me, but it's so big... How can you get such an alla prima look if you are working in more than one layer??
Jala, I did used alla prima approach for the paintings, and I also used different techniques on some parts of paintings, include wet on wet, wet on dry, wet on half dry and glazing. It's not the alla prima paintings so. For the alla prima look... hum, I think I tried to keep the unity and the fresh feeling when I was working on it.
I came from China and live in San Francisco bay area now.
I got my BFA from China, MFA from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and now I am on the graduate-school faculty at the school.
Please enjoy my blog, and I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions about my painting. I really hope my work can bring you a piece of happiness today.

Your work is just beautiful - very sensual. The shadows in the drapery are luscious. I love visiting your blog for each new piece of work!
